85 westy, full camper, found this in a yard with a non vw on top of it.
front luggage part was crushed, poptop part had cracks, no skylight. also
had no engine and no tranny, threw in an air cooled 81 engine i had,
works good. was an automatic, changed to standard and changed over
the hydraulic clutch to a mechanically operated one. the cable worked
fine but the pedal effort was strenuous, changed back to hydro after
about 7 thousand miles. about 4 thousand on newly rebuilt engine.
recently parted out due to tranny going and lack of all around use, not
too happy about this one going to the crushers. had for about 5 years,
used for 2 cross country trips, and was a solid no rust van.
